Hydrogen Bulletin: 19–26 October 2026
Highlights of the Week
The Federal Republic of Germany has reportedly finalised a hydrogen support package. 1,5 billion euros (≈ 1,7 billion US dollars) has been allocated to the 2027 carbon contracts for difference auction. A green gas quota is being prepared, under which renewable hydrogen will count with a triple multiplier. Industrial electrolysis projects also advanced across Europe: OMV has begun installing electrolysers at its 140 MW project, Stiesdal Hydrogen has brought a 6,5 MW electrolyser into commercial operation, and a 25 MW unit in Zeebrugge has entered testing. 537 km of pipelines are in operation in Germany's hydrogen core network.
