Hydrogen Bulletin: 21–28 September 2026
Highlights of the Week
The most significant event of the week is industrial electrolysis. In China, a system of five 1000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzers with shared balance of plant and unified control (total capacity 5000 Nm³/h) has operated for more than 760 days, and on 9 September it reached full load, with all of the hydrogen supplied to external consumers. In Belgium, the first 250 kW AEM stacks have entered commercial operation. OMV will continue the 140 MW project on its own. 170 companies have sent a letter to the European Commission calling for the binding RFNBO hydrogen targets for transport and industry set by the RED III Directive to be kept in place after 2030 [3, 76, 85, 132].
